Anchorage’s Fur Rendezvous opens up officially Friday, Feb. 24 and runs through the end of the following weekend, mostly happening a stone’s throw away from downtown. There are three days of sprint sled dog races, a carnival, outhouse races, fireworks, fur and hide sales and a parade. There are non-downtown events like curling, snowshoe softball, Native arts fair, cornhole tournament, hockey games and a photo contest.
