Police searching for suspect in Anchorage stabbing death

A man died Tuesday afternoon after police found him with a stab wound outside a mental health services center in Anchorage’s Fairview neighborhood, the Alaska Mental Health Consumer Web building, police said.

Staff members at the Alaska Mental Health Consumer Web on Gambell Street called police after finding a man they believed to be “extremely intoxicated” outside the building. When medics arrived, they discovered the man had been stabbed in his upper body. He died from his injuries at the scene, police said.

Police said they had no suspect information at this time, but believe the stabbing is an isolated incident.

Anyone who has information about this investigation, including surveillance footage, is asked to call Dispatch at 3-1-1 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 561-STOP or online at www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
