Wasilla man dies in motorcycle crash

A Wasilla man died after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed through a ditch and into trees Monday evening, Alaska State Troopers said.

Joshua Landers, 50, was driving the motorcycle “at a high rate of speed” at around 6 p.m. when he failed to navigate a curve on Knik-Goose Bay Road near Foxworth Drive south of Wasilla, troopers said.

Landers was wearing a helmet, troopers spokesman Austin McDaniel said. The road was dry at the time, he said.

Landers was brought to an Anchorage hospital and died from his injuries, troopers said.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
