Events in Anchorage this week: South Anchorage block party, ‘Aural Imago’ and a free Blackwater Railroad concert

SoLo District Block Party — Shops in the SoLo area are throwing a party with demos from each store, like a fly-tying demo from Mountain View Sports, skate jams from Blue and Gold Boardshop and more. There will also be a beer garden, craft and food vendors. There will also be live music by Hwy9 and the Rabbit Creek Ramblers. Live After Five: Black Water Railroad Company — Bluegrass-folk group Black Water Railroad Company will perform at this summer concert series, which also features family-friendly activities, food and a beer garden. Free. 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday Aug. 1, Anchorage Town Square, 560 W Fifth Ave.

36 Crazy Fists at Koot’s — Metalcore band 36 Crazy Fists and special guests Beyond The Tides and Part Time Super Heroes will be featured as a part of this Rock On The River concert series. $25-$30. 8 p.m. Thursday July 25, Koot’s 2435 Spenard Road
