I would like to thank ADN for publishing the Q&As with the candidates for Congress before the June 11 primary election.
I made a “yes” list, a “no” list and a “maybe” list to prepare for the ranked-choice voting in the August special U.S. House election. The top four candidates will be on the ballot in the special election on Aug. 16, and voters will rank them 1 to 4. If no candidate gets more than 50% of the first choice votes, the last-place candidate is eliminated, and their supporter’s second choice is allocated. The vote redistribution process continues until one candidate has more than 50% of the votes.
Ranked-choice voting gives Alaskans more say in choosing their representatives.
