Letters to the Editor

Letter: Thanks for Willow efforts

Forty-nine years ago, Don Young was elected to represent Alaska in a special election. During his first term in Congress, he secured the Alaska pipeline that radically transformed our economy. Forty-nine years later, Mary Peltola ran to complete Don’s final term in Congress and honor his legacy in another special election. She’s doing just that. In her first full term in Congress, Mary succeeded at bringing the Willow project home for Alaska as a real energy bridge to the future.

The Willow project promises a bright future for Alaska, as it will ensure thousands of good-paying jobs, energy independence and fiscal stability to the state. Alaska Teamsters helped build the pipeline that Don Young worked so hard for. The next generation of Teamsters will be there to get to work on the Willow project and build Alaska’s future. Thank you, Congresswoman Peltola, for all your work on bringing the Willow project home.
