Letter: 60 years of good sausage

Sixty years ago, Anchorage was a little town with big dreams.

People were hungry for good bread, sausages and meat. Two young enthusiastic immigrants, Herbert and Otto from Germany, had the right idea, putting their skills and knowledge to use.

Alaska Sausage was born, and is still today in the same location, just a larger facility but with the same commitment to provide Anchorage consumers with wonderful products. It’s the place to get your fish smoked, your meat processed and buy delicious chocolates and imports from Germany.

Happy anniversary, Mr. Eckmann.
