Letter: Military promotions on hold

Friday’s ADN ran a front-page article entitled “Hundreds of military promotions on hold as GOP senator demands end to abortion policy.” The policy in question is that the Defense Department pays for military personnel to travel to other states to have abortions if the state they are serving in doesn’t allow abortions. In the article, it points out more than once that the holdup of promotions affects our national security.

The Defense Department could drop the policy, but it refuses. I can only conclude that the Biden administration thinks paying for abortion travel is more important than national security.
