Letter: A travesty

The result of the hush money trial showed that then-candidate Donald Trump cheated to get into the White House. He paid to cover up stories that would influence the electorate in 2016, and he worked with the National Enquirer through David Pecker to create false negative stories about other candidates, including Hillary Clinton. He claims every election is rigged, but he is the one cheating.

What a travesty. The woman who would have been our first female president was slandered and cheated out of an election by a man who continues to spin facts into lies. People keep saying this isn’t a big deal. Oh, but it is. He affected the trajectory of this country by cheating to get into office; he tried again in 2020 and he continues to do the same thing now. We cannot treat this as no big deal.
