Ship Creek was home to a new fishing event on Saturday, the Coho Rodeo. The silver salmon derby, organized by The Bait Shack, offered a first prize of $1,000 and cash payouts through sixth place.
Proceeds from the event benefited the Alaska RiteCare Foundation and the Alaska Sport Fishing Association.
