The Anchorage Wolverines earned their first victory of the season Thursday, topping the Maine Nordiques 3-0 at the North American Hockey League Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota.
The victory comes a day after Anchorage lost its season-opener 3-1 to the Amarillo Wranglers on Wednesday.
On Thursday, Shane Soderwall earned the shutout in goal for the Wolverines, making 33 saves. Lyton Liffrig, Kade Shae and David Tolan all netted goals for Anchorage.
The Wolverines will play the St. Cloud Norsemen on Friday at 4:30 AKDT in a rematch of the Robertson Cup semifinals from last season.
