A variety of annuals, house plants, herbs, edibles, baskets, perennials, mostly started by seed and grown in the greenhouse at the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center near Eagle River, were available for purchase during their annual plant sale that kicked off on Tuesday. The sale continues through Friday, unless sold out beforehand.
Proceeds from the sale go back into the horticulture and hobby craft programs at the Alaska Department of Corrections facility dedicated for female prisoners.
