Anchorage firefighters attack a fire in a homeless camp on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, after laying down 600-feet of hose to reach the blaze. "At about 3:40 this afternoon, we dispatched to the report of a fire in a homeless encampment near the 4500 block of Northwood Drive," Assistant Fire Chief Alex Boyd said. "No injuries were reported," he said.
Four units responded to the incident, and two of those units brought the minor fire under control in about 10 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Boyd said. (Bill Roth / ADN)
