Local inauguration-related events

Here's a list of some of local inauguration-related events. The swearing in of Barack Obama in Washington, D.C., is scheduled for 8 a.m. Alaska time.

Tuesday morning:

• Live telecast at the University of Alaska Anchorage's Wendy Williamson Auditorium. Doors open at 7 a.m. The event is free.

• KUDO Inauguration Breakfast at Organic Oasis, 2610 Spenard Road. Cary Carrigan broadcasts live. Doors open at 6 a.m. Tickets are $10. Call 522-1018.

• Cybergrrl blogger Aliza Sherman and Mothers Against Palin are watching the inauguration at Pi Restaurant in the Embassy Suites Anchorage Hotel, 600 E. Benson Blvd.

• Potluck inaugural breakfast at the Chugiak Senior Center, 22424 N. Birchwood Loop Road, 7-11 a.m.

• Mat-Su Democrats meet at 832 S. Colony Way, Suite 2, in Palmer, the former Mat-Su Democratic headquarters. Event is from 7:30-10 a.m.

Tuesday evening:

• Party at the Anchor Pub & Club, 712 W. Fourth Ave., is organized by campaign staff, volunteers and supporters of Obama. DJ, dancing and hors d'oeuvres. The event starts at 7 p.m. and is free.

• Obama supporters party at Pizza Man Restaurant, 16433 Artillery Road, Eagle River. Admission free, buy your own food. Event starts at 7 p.m.
