Kiplagat bags honor

After clocking a 3,000-meter steeplechase time Friday that automatically qualified him for the Division II national championship meet, UAA senior David Kiplagat was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's Athlete of the Week. Kiplagat was timed in 9 minutes, 1.67 seconds, at the Stanford Invitational in California, which knocked nearly six seconds off his school record.
