Brooks 25th at world nordic ski championships

Holly Brooks of Anchorage was one of three Americans who finished in the top 30 of the women's 15-kilometer pursuit race Saturday at the World Nordic Ski Championships in Oslo, Norway. Brooks, a member of the Alaska Pacific University nordic program, placed 25th in the race, which featured 7.5 kilometers of classic skiing and 7.5 kilometers of skating.

Marit Bjoergen of Norway won the race in 38 minutes, 8.6 seconds, claiming her second gold medal of the championships.

Liz Stephen of Vermont led the Americans, placing 24th in 41:03.5. Brooks was 25th in 41:21.5 and Jessie Diggins of Minnesota was 28th in 41:33.8. Anchorage's Kikkan Randall did not compete.
