Wine Of The Week: Domados Tobiano malbec/merlot, 2009

The 2009 Domados Tobiano malbec/merlot reserve is my kind of wine! You get firm tannic textures, huge black and blue fruits and a lovely mouth feel. The aromatics are humid, deep and satisfying. Domados is a quality winery in Uco Valley, located in the La Consulta district of Argentina's Mendoza province. People often think Mendoza is a tiny place, but it's huge. La Consulta is one of the prime sub regions. The Tobiano blend is off the charts, and it's only Domados' second quality level. Serve with good friends and big foods. Costs about $25.
