Alaska's biggest footrace is a week away, and procrastinators will pay if they wait beyond today to sign up for the 33rd annual Heart Run.
After Saturday, it'll cost an extra $10 to sign up for the 5-kilometer race and a companion, untimed 3-kilometer event.
You can sign up in person Saturday at the King Career Center in Anchorage and Alaska Club in Wasilla. Or you can register online at heartrun.com. Both places will accept entries from 1-4 p.m.
After Saturday, you can still enter the race, either online or in person. It'll just cost you more. Additional in-person registration opportunities are scheduled for Wednesday and Friday from 4-6:30 p.m. at the King Career Center (2650 E. Northern Lights Blvd.).
Participants can pick up their bibs at any of the in-person registration events. Doing so could save trouble on the day of the race. Last year's event attracted 5,803 participants.
On the day of the race, participants can sign up for the 3-K but not the 5-K at the UAA Arts Building, where the race starts and ends.
Entry fees range from $5 for kids 18 and under who don't want a T-shirt to $35 for adults who opt for the timed 5-K plus a T-shirt. Those prices are good only through Saturday at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, they go up $10.
