The fourth-seeded girls singles player got a scare but all the top seeds prevailed Friday at the Cook Inlet Conference tennis championships at The Alaska Club North.
South's Hannah Hansmeier needed three sets to fend off unseeded Huiling Zhao of Service 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 on a day when every other match was decided in two sets.
South and West share the team lead with 13 points apiece heading into Saturday's final day of action.
