Letter: Middling sports oust real music

KHAR Radio is no more; this great classic music station is now replaced with the run-of-the-mill CBS Sports Network. How sad. Just what we need is another radio sports station about the hard-luck stories of jocks on drugs and steroids, beating up their wives and girlfriends, underpaid for all their great talents and who did or didn't get into sportland's various halls of fame, and now some of them are declaring their "gayness." Who cares!

KHAR was an excellent music station with an excellent format for those who appreciated the classic music of the '30s, '40s, '50s, '60s and even the '70s. For those of us who enjoyed this kind of music, it's now history but not dead — we have our 45s, 33s, tapes and CDs. We will survive!
