Thursday in the Alaska Baseball League

Pilots 5, Bucs 3

The Anchorage Glacier Pilots scored all five of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the first half of a Thursday doubleheader 5-3 against the Anchorage Bucs at Mulcahy Stadium.

A bloop single from Micah Green drove in two runs to put the Pilots up 4-2 on the Bucs, who scored a pair of runs on a single from Ryan Leonards in the top of the fourth inning. Green came around to score on a double from Dayne Parker to extend the Pilots' lead to 5-2.

Pilots starter Carlos Fuentes struck out six in five innings to earn a win, and Brendan McCurry pitched the last two innings of the seven-inning game.

Cory Copping was saddled with the loss for the Bucs.

Oilers 2, Chinooks 1 (11 innings)

David Olmeda-Barrera drove in the winning run for the Peninsula Oilers on Thursday, plating A.J. Ramirez in the bottom of the 11th inning to seal a 2-1 victory over the visiting Chugiak Chinooks at Seymour Memorial Park.

The winning hit was Olmeda-Barrera's team-high fourth. Ramirez scored both of the Oilers' runs and finished with three hits. Leadoff man Andre Mercurio added two hits, and Cody Repenning earned a win in relief.

Collin Radack led the Chinooks with four hits and Nicholas Covello scored Chugiak's lone run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Krahn.

Goldpanners 14, Miners 4

Aided by five Mat-Su Miners errors, the Fairbanks offense erupted in a 14-4 win at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.

A seven-run outburst in the third inning included a two-run home run from the Goldpanners' David Edwards. The Miners, who were led by two RBIs from Michael Thomas, committed three errors in the third.

John Williams racked three hits for the Miners.
