Troopers find wanted man in Wasilla home's crawl space

Alaska State Troopers found a Wasilla man wanted on a felony warrant hiding in the crawl space of a Lake Lucille home Saturday.

Michael R. Metcalf, 50, was arrested along with another man police said helped hide him and lied to police.

Troopers went to a Lake Lucille Drive home on Saturday to find Metcalf, who had failed to appear in court on original charges of burglary, criminal mischief and theft, according to a dispatch posted online.

Thomas Keller, 52, told troopers Metcalf wasn't there, the dispatch said.

When allowed to search the home, troopers found Metcalf hiding in a crawl space.

Metcalf and Keller were arrested, and Keller now faces charges of helping hide Metcalf from police.

Both men were taken to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
