Police: 1 injured in Anchorage vehicle-wheelchair crash

Anchorage police said a woman was taken to the hospital after a pickup truck collided with her motorized wheelchair in Midtown Anchorage on Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple callers dialed 911 around 12:20 p.m. reporting the crash at the intersection of Maplewood Street and East Northern Lights Boulevard, said Dani Myren, a police spokeswoman.

The woman, unidentified by police, was semi-responsive on the scene and was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Myren said.

Police have not issued any citations in the crash.

"It's still too early to nail down the specifics concerning the circumstances of the accident," Myren said.
