Richmond & Quinn announced that Allison Gordon Strickland has joined its defense team. After her clerkship with the Alaska District Court in 2009-2010, she spent two years practicing with Richmond & Quinn. In 2012, she moved to Tampa, Fla., where she worked for Murray, Morin & Herman, a law firm specializing in aviation law. She rejoined the Richmond & Quinn team in 2014. Her practice areas include aviation, personal injury and wrongful death, premises liability, transportation litigation, insurance coverage and commercial litigation.

Alaska Railroad veteran Wendy Lindskoog accepted the League of Railway Industry Women's 2014 Outstanding Woman of the Year Award during the league's recent annual conference opening session. The award is presented to a woman who has improved the rail industry through her work in a leadership role within a railway field. Recipients must also demonstrate innovation and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges, and bring consistent excellence to her organization and surrounding community. Lindskoog was recognized for her tenured service as a senior manager and executive for the Alaska Railroad, which hired her in 2009 as the external affairs manager. Since then, Lindskoog has been promoted repeatedly and currently serves as vice president of business management and corporate affairs.

Tlingit Haida Central Council is proud to announce President Richard Peterson was selected by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development to receive the prestigious "Native American 40 Under 40" award. Every year, NCAIED recognizes emerging Native American, Alaska Native and First Nation citizens between 18 and 39 years of age who demonstrate leadership, initiative and dedication to achieve contributions to Native communities. The Executive Council unanimously voted to nominate President Peterson for the award in August. President Peterson was selected for the award for his visionary leadership in developing business and economic opportunities in rural Alaska, dedication to preserving culture and community, and promoting self-sufficiency in rural Alaska.
