Alaska fisheries dodge a bullet

According to The Guardian, the world's largest contract caterer, serving 6,500 outlets across the UK and Ireland, has banned 69 species of fish from its menus. The ban includes fish whose populations are endangered from overfishing, habitat loss, or both, and fisheries conducted in ways damaging to non-target species. The ban includes such species as Atlantic cod, four types of skate, five tunas, and swordfish. Read the report here.
