The Alaska Humanities Forum has announced a call for nominations for 2012 Governor's Awards for the Arts and Humanities.
The Forum is dedicated to humanities-based projects, programs and education throughout the state of Alaska. It funds and directs a number of Alaska-based efforts including the Rose Urban Rural Exchange, Alaska History and cultural Studies High School Curriculum and the C3 Project.
The Governor's Award is an annual prize honoring various individuals and groups for contributions to the community that lead to civic, intellectual and cultural enrichment.

The Alaska Humanities Forum has recently welcomed Nina Kemppel as the new CEO. The four-time Olympic cross-country skier will begin her post at the Forum this August.
