Former 'Deadliest Catch' skipper pleads guilty in fatal DUI case

According to the Peninsula Clarion, Clarence "Ole" Helgevold Jr. registered guilty pleas to criminally negligent homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol for killing 47-year-old George Larion with an automobile last January. Helgevold is known to many for his role in the Discovery Channel series "Deadliest Catch," as skipper of the Arctic Dawn. The plea deal stipulates that Helgevold must serve no less than five years in jail, pay at least $4,000 of a $5,000 fine (with the remainder suspended), lose his license to drive for three years and 30 days, have no contact with Larion's widow, and enter an alcohol treatment program. He is currently under house arrest awaiting a sentencing hearing, scheduled for August. Read more from the Clarion, here, and for a more national perspective, read CBS News's account, here.
