Nunaka Valley starts tournament strong

According to the Columbian (Clark Co., Washington), the team representing Alaska won 5-0 in the first game of the Little League Softball Western Regional tournament on Saturday. Heather Breslin and Sidney Smith combined for a no-hitter, with Breslin retiring the first 15 batters she faced as the starter. The tournament brings together 10 teams of 11- and 12-year-old girls, and the winning team earns a berth to the Little League World Series. Alaska girls do indeed kick ass. Read the wrap-up here.
