Russia drafting Northern Sea Route law

According to Barents Observer (Norway), a Russian parliamentary commission is working on legislation aimed at, according to an official who spoke with the Voice of Russia, making Russia's northern shipping route effective and available to all countries. The new law, currently in the draft stage, contains provisions for a new maritime administration that would oversee routes and icebreaker escorts, as well as provide navigational data and place rescue resources to cover the route from the Kola Peninsula to Kamchatka.
