Photos: Valentine's Day at the Alaska Zoo

The Alaska Zoo in Anchorage held a "Valentines for the Animals" on Saturday, when 44-degree temperatures made for a pleasant day to walk around and view the animals in their exhibits. Kids made Valentine's Day cards and delivered them to the animals, and could feel the difference between the pelts of a polar bear, lynx, red fox and wolf.

Zoo personnel gave talks about the animals, including the Amur tigers, moose, porcupines, polar bears and wolverines. Abby Hall walked around the zoo wearing a polar bear costume, taking photos with the kids and getting hugs and high fives. Hall also let kids and adults wear the polar bear costume head.
