Bartlett 3, Chugiak 2
Leanna Atafua distributed 51 assists and the Bartlett volleyball team rallied to defeat Chugiak in five sets Thursday at Bartlett in Cook Inlet Conference volleyball action.
The Golden Bears won 25-22, 19-25, 21-25, 25-16, 15-8.
Violett Togagae (14 kills, 23 digs) and Pa'ia Togagae (21 kills, 13 digs) chalked up double-doubles for Bartlett.
Kendra Camell added 13 kills and eight digs.
A pair of Mustangs also recorded double-doubles. Emily Moorhead (14 kills, 11 digs) and Allie Chase (17 assists, 11 digs) paced Chugiak.
"It was very intense from both sides from the beginning to the end," Bartlett coach Tufu Misi said.
West 3, Eagle River 0
Propelled by a strong first set, West swept Eagle River 25-8, 25-14, 25-16 in a CIC volleyball match at Eagle River.
Brooke Dexter powered West with 11 kills and four aces.
Kaitlin Hampton added 13 digs for the Eagles.
Ruta Faitele (11 assists) and Kelsey Ross (10 assists) also contributed.
No stats were reported from Eagle River.
