Police say missing woman Destiny Pittman found

Missing Anchorage woman Destiny Pittman has been found, the Anchorage Police Department said Thursday.

“Officers found her in Anchorage this week and she told them she was OK,” said APD spokesman MJ Thim.

Pittman, an exotic dancer who built a following dancing in clubs from Homer to Anchorage, hadn’t been reported seen since summer. Friends and family, increasingly worried she’d been a victim of foul play, reported her missing in early January. She was the subject of a Daily News story on Jan. 10.

Thim did not offer additional details about the circumstances under which Pittman was found.

Her missing person investigation is closed, he said.
