Police investigating 2 deaths at East Anchorage apartment

Police were investigating Friday after two people were found dead inside an apartment in Anchorage’s Mountain View neighborhood.

Officers discovered the pair after someone called 911 around 12:16 p.m. to report they’d gone to check on a woman at her apartment and found her dead, police said in a public message.

When officers arrived, they found a second person dead in the apartment along with the woman.

It is unclear how the pair died or what their relationship was to one another. The cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner.

Police would not say whether the deaths were considered suspicious.

“Officers made observations at the scene that have prompted them to take a closer look at the circumstances surrounding the deaths,” police said.

Investigators are not looking for any additional information, witnesses or suspects.
