A pedestrian was hit by a car at the Spenard Road and Minnesota Drive intersection Wednesday after he or she stepped into traffic, police said.
Anchorage Police officers were called to the intersection around 4:45 p.m., a spokeswoman for the department said in an email. The driver was unable to stop before hitting the pedestrian and stayed on scene after the crash, police said.
The pedestrian had serious injuries and was brought to the hospital but police said he or she is expected to survive.
No citations were issued and police said no other information was immediately available.
