Man dead in early-morning shooting in Muldoon

Anchorage police say a 21-year-old man was shot to death early Friday morning in Muldoon, and investigators are seeking further information from the public on what happened.

Police spokesperson Jennifer Castro identified the victim Friday afternoon as Treyveonkindell Bobby Dwayne Thompson. She said nothing further was immediately available on the nature of his death.

"We're still working on it," Castro said.

A brief statement from police early Friday dispatchers received multiple calls about 3 a.m., reporting shots fired near Duben Avenue and Bolin Street.

On Friday morning, police were going door-to-door in the neighborhood canvassing residents.

Cole Reitz, who lives on Bolin, said he was awakened by officers knocking on his door. He said they asked if he had any security cameras, whether he heard any shots and, if so, how many he'd heard.

Anyone with information is asked to contact either APD at 907-786-8900 or Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP or its website.
