Fairbanks man arrested for allegedly pointing handgun in “road rage” incident

A 24-year-old Fairbanks man was arrested for allegedly pointing a handgun at another motorist in what troopers described as a “road rage incident” on the Parks Highway.

Alaska State Troopers were called to an “ongoing” incident involving a white truck, a black truck and a motorcycle traveling from Nenana toward Fairbanks on the Parks Highway.

Troopers caught up with the vehicles and pulled the motorcyclist over at Mile 340 of the Parks Highway.

Evan Gentry of Fairbanks was arrested for pointing a gun at the driver of the white truck, and charged with third degree assault, reckless driving and driving in violation of a license limitation.

District attorneys will consider charges against the driver of the black truck, whose name and role in the incident wasn’t explained by troopers Sunday.

Anyone who witnessed the road rage incident should call the Alaska State Troopers at 907-451-5100.
