Anchorage homicide victim found near Campbell Airstrip Road ID’d as 35-year-old man

Anchorage police on Friday identified the homicide victim whose body was found near Campbell Airstrip Road on Wednesday as 35-year-old Juan Wright.

An Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman said Friday afternoon there is “nothing to indicate” that Wright’s death is connected to a missing Anchorage man, Juan Toscano, whose vehicle was found nearby on the Hillside at the Basher Drive trailhead.

Wright’s body was found by someone walking on Wednesday, police have said. Campbell Airstrip Road cuts through Far North Bicentennial Park and connects to several popular trailheads.

No additional information was immediately available about his death or the status of the investigation.

Police asked anyone with information to contact dispatch at 3-1-1, option #1, or 907-786-8900, option #0.
