At least one person died Saturday in a boating accident on Flat Lake, according to the Mat-Su Borough Department of Emergency Services.
Ken Barkley, fire deputy director at the borough, said emergency crews were responding to the lake, west of Big Lake, around 3:30 p.m. for reports of an accident.
He did not immediately have additional details late Saturday afternoon, including what type of watercraft the person was on, how many others the person was with and what led to the accident.
