Serviceman severely injured in hit-and-run in East Anchorage

Police are investigating an East Anchorage hit-and-run that critically injured a pedestrian early Saturday morning.

According to an Anchorage Police Department press release, someone called police just after 5 a.m. Saturday to report a man lying in the road on Boniface Parkway near Perry Drive. Police found the man had severe injuries and he was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday night.

Police said that the preliminary investigation indicates the 24-year-old man was hit by a vehicle. Police said the man is active-duty military, but did not release his name.

On Saturday evening, Anchorage police said they had found the vehicle they believed was involved, but no arrests or charges had been made.
