In ‘50 Years of Promise’ documentary, key figures describe roots of Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act

The Ted Stevens Foundation has released a documentary on the creation of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act to commemorate its 50th anniversary this month.

It includes interviews with the key figures involved in ANCSA’s creation, including Willie Hensley, Oliver Leavitt, Marlene Johnson, Guy Martin and Ron Birch, as well as interviews with U.S. Rep. Don Young and Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

The documentary was produced by Cale Green and Sockeye Red Services, and additional support for the project came from the Atwood Foundation and Arctic Slope Regional Corp.
