Photos: Rally protests plea deal in fatal hit-and-run crash

About 250 people gathered for a "Justice for Jeff" rally at Spruce Park in Anchorage on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, near the location of a hit-and-run collision that killed bicyclist Jeff Dusenbury last July.

Friends and family are protesting the plea bargain agreement that would give a teenage girl a one-year sentence after she pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and DUI charges.

Almost 3,500 people have signed an online petition requesting that Attorney General Craig Richards reject any sentencing recommendation and let the judge decide the appropriate sentence for Alexandra Ellis.
