Letter: No alcohol tax

I do not think a tax on alcohol is the right approach to the mayor’s proposal to fund another multimillion-dollar program. Why does the mayor want to penalize a segment of Anchorage for a citywide problem?

I believe that we all should pay for the mayor’s program. Better yet, he should find the monies in the already bloated city budget. It is only fair to have everyone help with this program he wants to fund with our dollars. I know the liberal Assembly will give him a green light. I hope there are people out there looking at this targeted tax grab by our spend-it-all mayor.
