Letter: Doing their worst

Kevin Clarkson, Alaska’s attorney general, on Sunday in these pages addressed the sexual assault epidemic in Alaska. After agreeing that this is a terrible problem for our state, he announced the administration’s solution: Encouraging Alaska men to “choose respect,” and finding a bunch of volunteer attorneys to help victims. Seriously?

In a state where we have, according to U.S. Attorney General William Barr — no bleeding-heart liberal — a “public safety emergency,” our state government solution is jawboning and volunteers? This just further displays the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the Dunleavy administration.
