Jan. 6, 2021: a new day of infamy, made in America with American components. What a way to make America great again.

The far right way of expressing its  disagreement with legal election results by desecrating the U.S. Capitol was, to a great majority of us, abominable. It provides actionable evidence for historians to judge Donald Trump’s failures.

I am hoping that our new president and his team will bring us back to the center, with little swing to the right and the left, giving us a respite from chaos. We should be proud of the exceptionally huge voter turnout and voters who had had enough after four years of insanity and divisiveness bringing this great country to its knees.

The next few years will be tough, but democracy will survive.
