The Alaska Board of Fish has effectively blocked Kenai Peninsula residents from participating for nearly 20 years. As a socalled public process, the board has not met in Soldotna since 2005. The reasons they give for this lack of geographic representation are all false. Attending a two-week meeting in Anchorage for the Upper Cook Inlet meeting is very expensive for Kenai Peninsula residents. In the interest of fairness and an ethical process, the board should deliberate in Soldotna consistent with the customary and traditional rotation.
