WILLOW — The 47th Iditarod began Sunday afternoon at Willow Lake, where 52 teams left in two-minute intervals to being their 1,000-mile race across Alaska. By evening, the teams were working their way up the Susitna Valley toward Skwentna, then the Alaska Range. The finish line is more than a week away in Nome.
