Last-minute Frostbite Footrace gets snow, costumes and nearly 100 runners

Race organizers didn’t get the go-ahead to hold the annual Frostbite Footrace amid the COVID-19 pandemic until about two weeks ago, but the annual Fur Rendezvous event managed to draw about 100 runners on short notice Saturday.

Many came dressed in costumes, and all had to contend with new snow on the ground.

Michelle Cox and Kelby Youngberg claimed the 5K victories. Cox finished in 24 minutes, 34 seconds, and Youngberg finished in 20:39.

Ava Taylor took the overall win in the 2.5K with a time of 17:28. Todd Sneesby paced the men in 18:48.
