Streaking Saint Martin’s bruises UAA men, 79-67

The UAA men's basketball team had no answer for hot-shooting Saint Martin's on Saturday.

The Saints hit 56.3 percent of their shots and enjoyed perfect shooting from Matt Dahlen to breeze past the Seawolves 79-67 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game in Lacey, Washington.

The Saints led by as many as 23 points en route to their seventh straight win. Dahlen scored 17 points on 7 of 7 shooting to lead three Saint Martin's players in double figures.

EJ Boyce drained 5 of 6 shots from 3-point range to provide 15 points and Rhett Baerlocher added 13 for the Saints (17-5 overall, 10-4 GNAC).

UAA (10-12, 6-8) was limited to 39 percent shooting. Drew Peterson sank three treys to finish with a team-high 11 points and Brian Pearson added 10.

D.J. Ursey grabbed 10 rebounds to help UAA to a 34-31 rebounding edge. He added nine points and was one of eight Seawolves with six or more points.

UAA returns to the Alaska Airlines Center this week for a Thursday game against Northwest Nazarene and a Saturday game against Central Washington.
