The Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward Alaska starts its summer hours on May 26^th, 2017. The center is open 8:00 am-9:00 pm Friday Saturday Sunday and 9:00 am -9:00 pm the rest of the week. The aquarium features sea mammals including seals and sea lions, sea birds and a variety of fish and other sea life. The center also conducts research and rehabilitation of stranded marine mammals.

Bob Hallinen has been a photojournalist in Alaska since the 1980s and has traveled extensively all over the state. He retired from the ADN in November 2018 after 33 years at the newspaper.
